How I can help you

Clinical Psychologists receive a broad training in different therapeutic approaches, working with people from childhood through to adulthood.  I specialise in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) with adults (16 years and above), which has a strong scientific evidence base for its effectiveness for a wide range of common mental health problems.  I also offer Behavioural Couples Therapy for those who are experiencing problems in their relationships.

Common problems I work with include:

  • Panic attacks

  • Depression

  • Phobias

  • Social anxiety

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Stress

  • Worry

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Parental mental health in the perinatal period (i.e. during pregnancy and after)

  • Problems at work

  • Low self-esteem

  • Problems with eating

  • Bereavement

  • Perfectionism

  • Problems in couple relationships

  • Managing life changes

Whilst some problems can feel well defined with clear triggers and symptoms, it’s just as common for people to feel like they don’t have a clear understanding of what’s wrong but know that something isn’t the way they would like it to be. You may feel like you’re struggling with life and stuck in ways of thinking, feeling and behaving that no longer work for you. Having space to think about yourself in a safe and confidential space can bring greater understanding and therefore choice and control in the way you live your life.

The difficulties you are experiencing day to day can show themselves in a many ways including, feeling down, depressed and hopeless, lack of energy and motivation as well as worrying and feeling on edge. These symptoms can also show themselves in our bodies through tension and fatigue, poor sleep and changes to appetite.
